SUPER stopper John Danby has been backed to get even better by boss Stuart Watkiss after receiving specialist coaching at Coventry City.
The Harriers number one is favourite for a clean sweep of the club's player of the year awards this season after outshining his outfield colleagues.
And Watkiss believes the 21-year-old keeper will benefit immensely from regular link ups with the Championship club.
"John's been training with Coventry once a week so that he can receive top class goalkeeping coaching there," said Watkiss.
"He's an excellent player with an excellent attitude and this can only benefit him and benefit us.
"He goes and works with a leading coach called Seaumus McDonagh, who has worked with Mick McMarthy for the Republic of Ireland and who worked with me at Mansfield. "
Watkiss insists there is nothing untoward in Danby's coaching with the Sky Blues and says he has had no interest in the former Albion trainee from Coventry or any other club.
"The reason he's there is for his personal progress and I haven't had an offer from any league club for any of my players."
