LATVIAN midfielder Alex Volosanovs could be the talismanic figure needed to rekindle Stourport's ailing Southern League Division One West season.
The midfielder signed up for the Walshes Meadow side following a brief stint at Worcester City and inside seven minutes of his debut, Swifts had cruised into a 2-0 lead.
Strikers Richard Burgess and Mark Crisp were the ones celebrating the goals but the new recruit did bring a touch of class to the proceedings and boss Dave Titterton will be hoping he can have a similar impact when his side travel to Rothwell Town this weekend.
Swifts failed to build on their impressive start but it wasn't for the lack of trying as they created a number of chances through the remainder of the game.
It was Burgess who opened the scoring, his third of the season, when he steered home a Dan Mason corner after just three minutes.
Cinderford were still recovering from that setback when Crisp doubled the lead with a chip over the keeper from just outside the area.
Volosanovs forced a good save from the keeper before Crisp missed a golden opportunity to bag his second of the game when he side-footed wide when well placed.
The visitors had their chances and Nick Green needed to clear a header off the line before keeper Aaron O'Malley tipped away a well-struck long-range effort.
The second half lacked the creativity of the first but Crisp again went close, collecting a Mason pass only to steer his shot against the crossbar.
Swifts: O'Malley 7, M Jones 7, Green 7, A Jones 7, WEBB 8, Volosanovs 7 (Willetts 75), Lloyd 6, Bragoli 7, Crisp 7, Burgess 7 (Shirley 68, 6), Mason 6. Subs (not used): Atkinson, Checketts, Titterton.
