BROADCASTING industry regulator, Ofcom, has announced which organisation has been awarded the licence to provide a new FM commercial radio service for Kidderminster and the surrounding area.
Out of three applicants, ACE FM was chosen by Ofcom's radio licensing committee to run the service.
The successful bidder, based in Kidderminster's Swan Centre, is expected by Ofcom to begin broadcasting as soon as possible and by no later than two years from the award of the licence.
ACE said it would provide a locally-focused music, news and information service for 25 to 54-year-olds.
It is owned by MNA Broadcasting, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Midlands News Association.
