IN reply to Eve Freer (Letters, Thursday, February 17) the report that I received on the visit by Malcolm Wickes Minister for Pensions, to County Hall, was that he said very little, and promised even less.
However, what he did not discuss was the continuing closure of post offices, and the well reported bullying of our pensioners by the call centres contracted by the Government.
The sending out of strongly-worded letters emblazoned in red to say pensioners will not receive pension books after April 2005 are greatly disturbing to the most vulnerable in our society.
Worcester City Forum for Older People, a non-political forum, is still opposing these and many more injustices against our pensioners - and will continue to do so.
BRIAN HUNT,
Chairman,
Worcester City Forum for Older people
