GOOD hygiene practice is being highlighted at Kidderminster Hospital as part of a national campaign.
Staff at the hospital's 20-bed intermediate care unit, in particular, have been putting up public displays and promoting the use of alcohol hand-held dispensers ahead of Monday's Think Clean Day.
The initiative is being run throughout NHS primary care trusts, including Wyre Forest's, to raise awareness of cleaning and what can be achieved in a short time.
Domestic and clinical staff will be given educational material during the campaign and will be encouraged to cut down on clutter in their workplaces.
Debbie Narburgh, team leader for intermediate care services on the unit, said: "It is vital to protect patients during recovery, as well as staff and visitors on wards. We are urging everyone to maintain good hygiene."
