IF BLUESY country jazzy roots music is your cup of tea then you would be well advised to head down to Worcester's Marr's Bar this Sunday.
The Pierpoint Street venue plays host to 3 Man Jam! - an acoustic trio formed by Backdoor Blues Corporation's vocalist Oliver Carpenter and guitarist Neil Worrall, along with top piano player Mike Nock from the Legendary Surftones.
The Midlands-based trio works its way through a range of styles from the urban blues of Tom Waits, and the blues, jazz and soul of the late Ray Charles to the country sounds of Steve Earl.
The trio's writing, led by pianist Mike, plus their arranging skills, also add a real edge to the repertoire and they have graced a range of venues - from intimate pub settings to major music festivals, including the HMV Birmingham International Jazz Festival.
Oliver provides the band's vocal focal point with his strong gravelly voice and unusual trumpet style, while Neil and Mike combine excellent soloing and grooving rhythm work.
Tickets for the gig - which starts at 8pm - are £4 on the door.
