IF you like vintage tractors and farm machinery, you'll love Tractor World at Malvern's Three Counties showground next weekend.
Organised by Kelsey Publishing, which produces Tractor & Machinery magazine, this two-day indoor event over Saturday and Sunday (March 5-6) is firmly established as the seasonal opener in the world of antique tractors.
Last year, it attracted 8,000 visitors from as far afield as British Columbia, Canada, US, Northern Ireland and across Europe.
Exhibitors will be bringing veteran (1903-1939), vintage (1940-56), post-vintage (1957-63) and classic tractors (1964-1978), to the show and not just tractors.
There will also be a selection of implements, stationary engines and horticultural machines to be seen and enjoyed along with club stands and modellers. All exhibits are judged for various awards in whichever class they may have entered.
In the working section Maurice Gould, from Barnstable, North Devon will be bringing his 1963 Allis Chalmers D17. This tractor is in totally original condition and arrived here in the UK from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada last November. The tractor has done less than 3,000 hours.
On show will be a 1969 Massey Ferguson 135, which last year went on a road run from Sweden to Russia and back and there will be the opportunity to purchase a 1939 Farmall H Concours condition tractor. It has been in the same ownership for 30-years and kept in immaculate order.
Over 60 trade stands are very much part of the Tractor World Show. Here you can buy your "nuts and bolts," from tractor panels, to engines and more. If models are your interest a fine display will be available for purchase with all the latest from Britain's Ertl, Scale down, RJN, Siku, Spec Cast and others.
If you fancy buying the full size thing then there is an auction on Saturday, starting at 10.30am and organised by HJ Pugh of Ledbury.
Here over 1,000 lots will be on offer, including tractors, implements, parts and literature. This year a rare collection of County tractors never before offered are to be sold.
Ticket prices are £6.00 adult, £5.00 OAP/Child. Advanced tickets are available at £4.00 adult, £3.50 OAP/Child. Advance ticket hotline 01959-543575.
