A NATIONAL inquiry into self-harm among young people is calling for individuals whose lives have been affected by the affliction to give evidence.
Rates of self-harm in the UK have increased over the past decade, making them the highest in Europe.
At present, one in 10 teenagers deliberately self-harms and more than 24,000 teenagers are admitted to hospital in the UK each year after deliberately hurting themselves.
To mark Self Harm Awareness Day tomorrow, the Mental Health Foundation and the Camelot Foundation are running the first inquiry into self-harm amongst young people.
People are asked to visit www.selfharmUK.org to read more about the inquiry and give evidence.
