HEREFORD United coach John Trewick is expecting another battle tonight as Eastwood Town return to Edgar Street in the FA Trophy fifth round replay (7.45pm).

The Badgers were within nine minutes of a major non-league upset in the first clash at Coronation Park on Saturday but Bulls' captain Tony James scored from the spot on 82 minutes to cancel out Deon Meikle's strike.

A heavy pitch favoured the UniBond Division One club at home, with United having to abandon their usual style of play, and Trewick is confident they can now wrap up the tie.

"We've got to make sure we finish the job off," said Trewick. "Obviously, we are the favourites to win but they are not going to lie down.

"It was tough on Saturday but give every credit to Eastwood, they pushed us hard. They closed us down and gave us a battle from the start.

"They are no mugs and have a number of players that could probably play at a higher level.

"It was a massive game for them. They had everything to gain and nothing to lose. It was close but the pitch was probably the worst I've seen for a good number of years.

"We deserved at least a draw and there were enough chances for us to get through at the first time of asking."

Teenage winger Brian Smikle, at United on a scholarship arrangement from West Brom, could make his home debut, while several fringe players may get the nod by boss Graham Turner in a tie the Bulls are expected to win.

Eastwood chairman Bryan Chambers believes his side can still pull off a surprise giantkilling act.

He said: "We felt cheated on Saturday but I still think we can beat them at their place. We matched them all through the game and I don't see any reason why we can't pinch it.

"My biggest worry at the moment is trying to get a squad together. Many of the lads are finding it difficult to get more time off work."
