DREW Hickey will make a decision over his Sixways future in the next few weeks.
The number eight, who is negotiating a new deal with Worcester, is pondering three options as he looks to settle his future.
The 26-year-old has to decide whether to continue his Sixways adventure, return to Australia with a Super 12 club or move to Ireland to enhance his international chances.
Hickey, who moved to Worcester from Orrell almost three years ago, has become a key member of the Warriors squad in the back row and has impressed in his debut Premiership season.
However, with the former New South Wales man now at a pivotal age, he knows he has to get this contract right.
"It's a pivotal one for me," he said. "Worcester are a very ambitious club and certainly things are moving forward for us.
"We are playing some good rugby and we're getting the results. What we all want to do is make sure that we settle our Premiership future and get rid of all the ifs and buts.
"There is a lot to weigh up for me. This decision has to be right and there are a lot of issues that need to be considered.
"I'm from Australia and so is my fiance, so we have to be sure that we are making the right decision because the next two or three years are obviously going to be important for us both.
"I certainly feel, however, that we're going to sort it out within the next two to three weeks."
Speculation about Hickey's future surfaced when Australian coach Eddie Jones was spotted watching him recently during Worcester's win at Harlequins.
However, the former Sydney University man has revealed that Ireland could yet be an option.
"I have an Irish passport so it's a possibility," he said.
"Playing there is an option as is Australia but we are in the middle of negotiations with Worcester at present.
"There are so many factors but I enjoy playing at Worcester and we've come a long way in a short space of time.
"The club want to continue to progress and become one of the top clubs in the country. That's very positive for the future."
