Pershore 0,
Newtown 3
AFTER an extremely turbulent second half of Saturday's Coaching Solutions League clash, the wheels finally came off Pershore's hopes of promotion.
An young and enthusiastic Newtown side outran Pershore for much of the game and were able to pick up most of the 50-50 balls.
They took the lead midway through the first half and their second came ten minutes into the second period.
This sparked Pershore into life and they poured forward for 20 minutes, but hard work and resolute defence, coupled with the home side's inability to convert short corners, saw Newtown net next to close the game out.
Pershore will be glad to see the back of a month in which they lost all four matches and failed to score a single goal to leave their hopes of promotion hopes in tatters.
The club's second team, meanwhile, recorded an excellent 5-1 win at Barlaston.
