Stourport II 2, Badsey 1
BADSEY resumed their league programme last Saturday with a trip to Stourport for a late afternoon game.
The visitors knew they were in for a tough game and this was reinforced when the home team went on the attack from the start.
However, the Badsey defence was in no mood to give away goals and Stourport found it hard to find a way through.
Goalkeeper Nikki Wright continued her superb form of the previous week with a string of great saves, while the back three of Louise King, Caroline Gorner and Wendy Hardy cleared their lines well.
Badsey took the lead against the run of play when Jane Rickey scored with a great shot from their first short corner.
Stung by this, Stourport renewed their attacks and got the equaliser just before half-time.
In the second half, forwards Rickey, Shelley Banner and Karen Robinson tried to take some pressure off their hard pressed defence, but found it difficult to find a way through a well organised home team.
At the other end, player of the match Wright produced some more superb saves but she was unable to prevent the home side scoring the winner shortly before the final whistle.
