REDDITCH Special Olympians warmed up for the National Summer Games with the West Midlands Gymnastic Competition at Abbey Stadium on Saturday.

Three teams were at Abbey Stadium as Worcestershire and Wolverhampton Special Olympic teams joined Redditch.

Elaine Daykin, of Special Olympics Redditch, said: "It was a fantastic event and a perfect build up for the national games inthe summer.

"I would also like to thank Redditch Borough Council for their support as well as the staff at Abbey Stadium.

"I also want to say a thank you to Buildbase for equipment borrowed and A and M Screen Print and MPF Homes."

n Redditch results were: Rachelle Darling: Silver in the floor event and bronze medals in the vault, beam and all-round categories.

Laura Morrison took bronze in the floor, gold in the vault and silver on the beam.

Emma Stockton took bronze on the floor, silver in the vault and bronze on the beam, bar and all-round.

Claire Stockton achieved bronze on the floor and beam, silver on the bar and two golds on the vault and all-around performance.

Sarah Garner took gold on the floor, gold on the beam, gold all-around silver on the bar and bronze on the vault.

Lindsay Huggard took silver on the floor and vault events and gold on the bar.

Seb Shaw took bronze on the floor, vault and bar.

Christopher Finch took bronze on the floor, vault, pommel, rings and all-around and silver on the parallel bars and bar events.

Richard Daykin won silver on the floor, vault, parallel bars, pommel, rings and all-around.
