HEADLESS Cross Ladies demolished Kidderminster 5-1 to reach the final of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Cup for the third year running thanks to a Teresa Boddington triple.

The ladies have had their name etched onto the same cup for the past two years and were determined to put a 3-0 defeat by the same Kidderminster team three weeks ago behind them to get to the final.

Kidderminster took the lead after just three minutes after a weak goal kick was headed back into the danger area and a Harriers striker made sure.

Cross equalised on 16 minutes after Coral Ioney's shot was blocked but Mandy Ellicott was on hand to tap in the rebound.

Cross captain Denise Markham put her side in the lead two minutes later and buried their opponents with a third on 24 minutes.

This time a flowing move ended with Jade Craddock beating two Kidderminster players before passing to Boddington to smash home.

Kidderminster came out after the interval with all guns blazing but Cross weathered the storm before killing off any chance of a fight back with a fourth again through Boddington on the hour.

And Boddington completed the rout herself as Markham played her through on 75 minutes.

Headless Cross Ladies manager Rob Auld said: "Considering Kidderminster beat us in the league three weeks ago we played some great football and fully deserved the win.

"The whole team played with a lot of confidence and didn't let the early goal get to them.

"To get to the final again is a great achievement for the team and the club."

The final will be played at Bromyard's Delahay Ground on Sunday, March 20 (KO 2pm) and Cross will be taking on Hereford Pegasus in a repeat of last year's final.
