Littleton 1,
Cadbury Athletic 1
SATURDAY'S game was a credit to both sides who fought out a fair result after a contest that ebbed and flowed throughout as both sides fought for the upper hand.
The visitors opened strongly and forced Littleton back and Adrian Pritchard in the home goal gave an inspired display to keep his side in the game.
He was called upon early to produce a great block from a close-range effort and he then tipped a goalbound shot over the crossbar.
He was powerless, however, after 26 minutes when Derek Tester seized on a defensive mistake to score from close range.
Littleton were level within ten minutes when captain Curtis Major converted a penalty following a foul on Simon Brain.
The scorer then suffered a dislocation of the kneecap that caused a delay of half-an-hour while the paramedics arrived to put it back in place.
The second half continued at the same frantic pace with Pritchard continuing to perform heroics. However, Littleton weren't idle and a 30-yard shot from Brain was touched over at full stretch.
A good move then cut the Cadbury defence to shreds and ended with a drive from Perry Beddoes flashing narrowly wide.
At the other end, Danny Malins was outstanding as he marshalled the defence ably assisted by Matt Cotton and Matt Edwards.
The game was sponsored by Howdens Joinery Co.
Littleton are away on Saturday to Knowle in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.
