Charlton Rvs A 3,

Badsey Rgrs U-15 5

RANGERS reached a seventh successive League Cup semi-final after Sunday's hard-fought victory.

The visitors fell behind after just two minutes and it took them until the 25th to make it all-square when Mark Magee set up Shaun Read.

It took the visitors just 60 seconds to take the lead when Magee's pace and cross gave Joe Smith the chance to find the net.

It remained 2-1 at the break after which Rangers assumed control and goals from player of the match Magee and Jamie Clarke soon gave them a three-goal cushion.

Goalkeeper Will Tyrrell was forced into a fine stop to prevent Charlton getting back into a match that was put beyond them when Clarke netted his second.

Tyrrell was beaten with a fine finish ten minutes from time and Rovers added a third but it all proved insufficient to deny Badsey a semi-final berth.

Drakes Broughton Rgrs U-11 5

FOUR second half strikes earned Rangers a deserved victory as they extended their undefeated sequence.

Tom Lloyd's goal helped ensure parity at the interval but chances came thick and fast for Drakes in the second period.

Calum Tidy was unlucky with a brilliant solo effort but there was no stopping player of the match Daniel Wilcox who bagged four goals in what eventually proved a comfortable Mercian League success.

Drakes Broughton Rgrs U-15 5, Welland 1

HAVING been kept waiting two weeks to play their Mercian Festival League semi-final tie, Drakes wasted no time in taking command of last Sunday's clash.

They produced some of their best attacking play of the season and led 3-1 at half-time.

Jamie Watts was the hero with a first half hat-trick but their closest rivals in the league hit back to trail by two goals at the break.

Welland did all they could to grab a lifeline as the second half got under way and were only denied a second goal when goalkeeper David Clifton produced a brilliant diving stop.

Drakes used that as an alarm call and Sam Hicks scored his side's crucial fourth goal after a length of the pitch move involving the Critcher twins, Lewis and Darren, and James Marsh who provided the telling pass for Hicks to net.

Watts then sealed a place in the final with his fourth goal of the afternoon after more fine inter-play this time between Dane Aldington, John Bird and James Alexander.

The winners are now looking forward to their second successive final and will be hoping to go one better than last season.

Evesham Utd U-11 A 6,

Cleeve Colt Rvrs 4

ELLIOT Grady opened the scoring with a darting run in Sunday's must win game.

The scorer then rounded the Cleeve goalkeeper before turning provider for Henry Woods to slot home.

Woods then added his second with a chip over the keeper after a cross from James Coldrick. Then it all started to go wrong as Rovers countered. Defensive frailties and perhaps over confidence, allowed the visitors back in to score three times before the break.

They then took a lead early in the second half but this seemed to awaken the Evesham team, as the possible thought of losing the league title hit home.

With James Bearcroft playing a captain's game at the back, United discovered a sense of urgency and Louis Brown equalised from Sam Ford's pinpoint cross.

With Tom Evans on the left matching Ford on the opposite flank, intense pressure produced a succession of corners and Ford found Wes Burden on the edge of the box and his volley rocketed into the net.

It was left to Woods to complete his hat-trick, with Ford yet again provider, to complete a hard-fought victory.

IN WHAT proved a close last match of the season both sides started in good form.

Playing up the slope, Rangers created two good chances but both efforts went wide and, with both defences playing well on a heavy pitch, it was goalless at half-time.

The second half started well with Ryan Dixon going close after good work by Will Gillette.

The deciding goal came ten minutes from time when Dixon broke down the left and sent in a cross that found Matty Andrew on the edge of the box and his fierce left-footer found the top corner.

Rangers then went close again through Alex Jones but his shot was cleared off the line.

Badsey's player of the match was Will Gillette.

Evesham Utd Robins U-9 3,

Leigh & Bransford Badgers 0

UNITED recorded a third consecutive win in convincing style.

They passed the ball around well in the heavy conditions and, halfway through the half, took the lead after a good run by Jack Davis saw Jordan Izod at the far post produce a fine finish from an acute angle.

Just before the break Sol Sanchez doubled the lead with a shot from outside the box.

The second half continued with Evesham dominating possession and visiting attacks were few and far between and, it came as no surprise when the Robins increased their lead.

Player of the match Sam Cainey was the scorer with a 20-yard strike that curled into the top left-hand corner.

Badsey Rgrs U-10 4,

Evesham Utd Robins 2

SATURDAY'S Ambassador League Group B clash was keenly contested.

The visitors led just before the break but Alex Trotman equalised for the home team almost immediately.

The second half saw Jack Milward net twice and Trotman bag his second to give Badsey a comfortable cushion.

The Robins scored again with time running out but this was a good win for Badsey with Will Taylor named player of the match for an excellent defensive performance.
