TEENAGE football star Theo Streete has been picked to play for Walsall FC.
Streete, 17, who's from Redditch but studying at Solihull College, got past thousands of other hopefuls to be picked for the team
He was spotted by Walsall during a match for Moor Green's Youth Team, Solihull College's partnership football club and was signed up to the club's reserve team but now trains and plays for them full time.
He said: "Obviously, I'm over the moon to have been chosen to play for such a prestigious local football club.
"Solihull College's Football Academy started off my development and I will always be grateful to them for that.
"They have taught me some good habits, which have stood me in good stead at Walsall."
Michael Moore, Head Coach of the Football Development Scheme, Solihull College, said: "Theo's had a fantastic start to his footballing career through the college's highly regarded Football Development Scheme.
"Very few young people are given the opportunity to play at such a fiercely competitive and professional level, so I have high hopes that Theo will go on to find career success as a professional footballer."
