Racing Warwick 1
Redditch VC 0
INJURIES and sickness saw Redditch VC only field nine players against Racing Warwick and the losses caught up with them.
After a few missed VC chances Jenny Worthington looked at the referee for a penalty after she was brought down in the first half but the official waved play on.
After the break VC were finding it tough to cope with nine players and within five minutes of the restart VC were caught cold when a rare Warwick breakaway saw them take the lead.
VC passed the ball in search of a equaliser with Lianne Cooper producing some sparkling runs down the right.
Both Tommy Johnson and Nat Lawrence battled well in the midfield and tried to create opportunities for their team-mates but their efforts were fruitless.
Manager Steve Sidwell said: "The whole team deserves a lot of credit, in particular Kate Saint and Janine Hay who battled for the whole 90 minutes in defence and kept Warwick to a few half chances."
