Highgate United 2 Barnt Green Spartak 2
TWO late goals denied Barnt Green all the points in the Midland Combination Premier Division on Saturday.
Spartak had been in control of the game, leading 2-0, when they allowed Highgate to get back into the match.
Delroy Brown put his side ahead in the eighth minute when he scored from the penalty spot.
Warren Sewell then confirmed Barnt Green's dominance when he scored the second goal in the 19th minute.
However, for the second game in a row Spartak conceded late on.
Highgate pulled a goal back in the 85th minute from Evans, before goalkeeper Kenny Sanders was unable to stop a deflected shot beat him during injury time to frustrate Spartak.
Manager GJ Singh said: "We've got into the habit of dropping points and it's something which has to stop."
"We put ourselves in a really strong position but then we allowed Highgate to get back into the game."
Spartak can enhance their chances of finishing in the top five when they take on Alveston at home on Saturday (2.45pm kick off).
After Alveston Spartak face another big game when they play Northfield Town in the Smedley Crooke Cup semi-final on March 12.
Singh said: "We are still aiming for fifth place so the Alveston game is a big one.
"Then we've got the cup match against Northfield so the big games are coming thick and fast."
