ATTENDING a Wychavon council committee meeting last month regarding our lido I have to say the atmosphere was electric, there were over 300 people supporting SALT.
There were some excellent comments and huge cheers in support of thecampaigners.
Roy Seabourne was fantastic in his support. Unfortunately the end result was five councillors voted against supporting our lido.
One lido supporter gave a short speech to say his grandfather and great grandfather worked in the salt mines of Droitwich.
He said he was devastated by the destruction of so many historical buildings in the town. He also said he felt as though he was being ethnically cleansed by Wychavon District Council. Never a truer word said.
I personally wonder if the lido site will become a car park or apartments?
