A NEW day support service for homeless young people has been launched in Bromsgrove.
The Basement Project is based under the Baptist Church in New Road.
Trained volunteers and a paid worker from the Bromsgrove Youth Homelessness Project will be on hand to give advice and support to those needing housing. The centre also has facilities for rough sleepers to shower, wash their clothes and cook a meal. Staff will also help young people learn basic skills to live independently and support them in finding employment or a college place.
A mediation service will also be run to help some return to their family home.
The centre is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 11am-2pm and on Fridays from 1.40-4.30pm.
