BASKETBALL: Bromsgrove Blaze A 60 Wolverley 55
FIVE unanswered points in extra-time saw Blaze win this tight Worcestershire Junior Division game.
Bromsgrove and Wolverly had tied 55-55, but in extra-time Sam Goulding and Andy Barker scored to hand Blaze victory.
After Wolverley had streaked ahead Luke Coffey hit back with two three-point baskets to trail at the end of the first quarter 16-6.
In the second quarter Adam Beaumont dominated around the basket and some fine shooting from Barker saw Blaze eat into Wolverley's lead to trail just 29-26 at half time.
In the third quarter Bromsgrove piled on the pressure, with Alex Lockwood, Callum Bolsher and Goulding scoring, as Blaze edged into a slim 43-39 lead going into the final quarter.
Despite Lockwood scoring 10 points for Blaze in the fourth quarter Wolverly doggedly held on and tied the game 55-55.
But Blaze had the last laugh in the five minute period, keeping Wolverley at bay and having Goulding and Barker scoring.
