THIS year's Cotswold Hunt Point-to-Point fixture has been moved from its traditional date in April to the Sunday before the National Hunt Festival at nearby Prestbury Park.
Organisers are hoping that the fixture on Sunday, March 13 at picturesque Andoversford will prove popular with owners, trainers, riders and racegoers who have a shortage of local fixtures at this time of year.
Fixture secretary Gill Abbatt said: "The course is in good condition and, with so many horses looking for a run, I am hopeful of a positive response to the meeting when entries close this weekend."
Advertisements have been placed in Irish racing papers in the hope that the fixture that precedes the annual Festival will prove attractive to visitors from across the Irish Sea.
The relaxed atmosphere at Andoversford will contrast dramatically with the more frenetic pace under the gaze of Cleeve Hill.
Racing is set to get under way at 2pm and admission is £5 with Under-16s free. Cars and driver will cost £10.
