A GIFT day has raised almost £800 to go towards an appeal to raise funds for restoration works at a church in St John's, Worcester.
Anyone who wanted to support the bid to raise £150,000 for St Clement's Church, Henwick Road, was welcome to come along on Saturday to see what work needed doing.
The bulk of the money will be spent on rendering work to the outside of the building.
"We are very grateful to everyone who came in and gave us money, though the appeal is still on-going," said Margaret Dixon, one of the churchwardens.
"A lot of people came in to have a look around. There were a lot of new faces, which was good."
English Heritage has promised to provide around half of the funding for the 1920s neo-Norman building, but the church needs to raise the rest. So far it has amassed £35,000.
Anyone who would like to make a donation can write to St Clement's, Henwick Road, Worcester, WR2 5NP.
