KIND-hearted residents at a sheltered housing scheme in Worcester are limbering up to take part in a charity challenge.
The elderly people at Warmstry Court, Quay Street, will walk to Diglis Lock and back during Macmillan Miles Week, to help support people with cancer.
"For some of our residents walking a mile is quite a challenge, but to make it harder for the fitter ones, we might make it a three-legged mile," said scheme manager Sandra Horton.
The week-long Macmillan Miles Challenge, sponsored by npower, challenges people to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief by covering a mile in any way they choose between Sunday, May 22 and Sunday, May 29.
"We would love to hear from anyone who would like to organise their own Macmillan Mile," said organiser Jon Rayner.
"It can be as straightforward as organising a walk, or as imaginative as you like."
Previous stunts have included pushing a barrel of beer from one pub to another, making miles of coins, miles of line-dancing and herding sheep for a mile.
