PEOPLE who spend too much time in their armchairs are being invited to improve their fitness and well-being on a "Health Walk" in Tenbury Wells.
The walking group is part of the South Worcestershire Walking Network and is sponsored by the nationwide "Walking the Way to Health" initiative, which is co-ordinated by the Countryside Agency and the British Heart Foundation.
Last month's walk took a circular route around the historic market town, starting from the Scout hut, and attracted a number of lcoal people.
"The Countryside Service is working throughout Worcestershire to get people out and about enjoying the outdoors," said Vicky Powell, Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Access Development Officer.
"The Tenbury Health Walks are an excellent way to meet new friends as well as get fitter at the same time."
Walkers can also take the opportunity to train as volunteer leaders, enabling more walks to take place across the county. During the last walk, six people were trained.
Walks normally start and finish at the Pump Rooms.
