AGE is no bar to keeping fit for people who take part in Extend exercise classes.
Teacher Jeanette Bourne, who has a a Monday class at Warmstry Court, in Worcester city centre and another on Wednesday mornings in Hallow Parish Hall, has pupils of all ages up to 94.
"Extend is a gentle exercise system for the more mature person and people with disabilities," she said.
"I try to make the sessions as much fun as possible, so that they don't seem a chore. I use all sorts of rhythmic music and we have a sing-song as well."
Balls, ribbons, scarves and cardboard tubes are used to encourage bending and stretching movements and each hour-long session includes at least 20 minutes of exercise while sitting down.
Extend classes are also held in the Friends Meeting House, Sansome Walk, Worcester, on Tuesday mornings, with teacher Jill Price.
