REDDITCH United will play their Birmingham Senior Cup Final against Birmingham City at Valley Stadium on April 26.

The Reds were given an option of venues between Solihull Borough's Damson Park and their own ground by the Birmingham County FA after St Andrews could not guarantee the game.

Reds assistant boss Gary Whild is hoping there will be a bumper crowd at Valley Stadium for the game.

He said: "There's a couple of different ways you can look at it. Obviously it's disappointing for the team because they want to play at a big venue.

"Then again it's a bit of an advantage for the club's point of view who can probably get a few more people though the gate.

"Personally I'd be disappointed if we don't get around 1,000 to watch the game."

Saturday saw the Reds steady the ship with a slim 1-0 victory over strugglers Runcorn FC Halton thanks to Scott Rickards' (pictured below) 12th goal of the Nationwide North season.

The United team included a couple of new faces in the form of goalkeeper Dave Clark and striker Matt Aubrey from Alliance club Westfields.

The Reds would have been struggling for a keeper after number one Richard Anstiss picked up a red card against Kettering.

Whild added: "We tried to chase up Walsall's Dean Coleman again who we had earlier in the season but were told it wasn't possible, however they put us on to Dave and he was in the squad on Saturday.

"Matt Aubrey's name has been going around the club for a while now. If you look at his background he's already been at Bristol City and Forest Green and that speaks for itself."

Influential left sided defender Matty Clarke could make return to first team action for nearly two months against league leaders Southport on Saturday (KO 3pm).
