BATCHLEY Post Office, which sold its final stamp earlier this year, could be turned into an eatery.
A planning application has been submitted to Redditch Council seeking permission to convert the Batchley Road premises into a restaurant, caf or snack bar.
A spokesman for CF Hodges of Kinver said: "At this stage, I do not know which type of eatery it will be. This application is just to change the use of the property into something which can be either a restaurant, caf or snack bar."
Batchley's well-used counter service closed as part of Royal Mail's cull of sub-offices.
An application has also been submitted to extend and alter the Spar Store, also on Batchley Road. Proposals include new facilities for disabled shoppers.
Councillors were due to decide last night and officers had recommended the plans be approved.
