Balsall Hornets 1,

Evesham Utd U-14 3

UNITED travelled to Balsall Common at the start of their cup final preparation and produced a strong, disciplined performance to overcome the Mid-Warwickshire League champions.

Despite Hornets taking the lead after an even first 25 minutes, a hat-trick from David Huggins took the game away from the home side.

His first goal was a header from a corner that sent the teams in level at the interval.

Halfway through the second half Huggins scored his and the game's best goal when good work from Mark Taylor and Lewis Dallard down the right flank, resulted in the latter firing in a low cross for Huggins to fire a low shot past the keeper.

A few minutes later and Huggins found a gap through the middle of the home defence to slot the ball past the oncoming goalkeeper.

In the last 15 minutes, Balsall were restricted to shots from long range as Evesham kept pressing with Ryan Cantrill and Tom Miles both firing efforts narrowly to high.

Inkberrow Eagles 1,

Badsey Rgrs U-7 12

FIVE goals from Ryan Attwood combined with a Jordan Lymn hat-trick and a brace from Nathan Bolland continued Badsey's run of good form.

Further strikes from midfielder Tom Benfield and defender Aaron Jelfs wrapped up Badsey's scoring in a friendly in which the Eagles never game up and scored a late consolation.

Bredon Harriers 0,

Harvington U-12 4

THE final scoreline flattered the visitors after a close-fought match.

Harriers dominated in the opening 15 minutes when Ross Attwood hit a post but, against the run of play, Simon Rouse scored twice just before half-time to give Harvington the lead.

Ed Davies terrorised the visiting side's defence after the interval when Paul Merchant flashed a shot just over the bar.

As Harriers pressed to get back into the game, Rouse broke away to complete his hat-trick before Ryan Birch pounced to make it four after David Ballard had made a fine save.

Littleton U-11 3, Peopleton 2

THE home side maintained their faint title hopes with an odd goal success over their local rivals.

The visiting goal was put under intense early pressure but splendid goalkeeping from David Jubb kept the scores level until David Stringer finally broke the deadlock when he slotted the ball into the corner.

Joe Fowles equalised with a shot from distance soon after the restart but Littleton responded swiftly and Nathan Brain made it 2-1 within a minute.

Alex Drew then made it 3-1 to ease the pressure on the championship chasers before Peopleton ended the scoring when Fowles again netted to set up an exciting climax.

Badsey Rgrs U-10 6,

St Marks Jnrs 1

ANOTHER good team performance, also notable for two excellent individual efforts, helped Badsey to victory.

The Saints gave as good as they got in the early stages but Sean Cooke weaved past their entire defence before slotting home from close-range to put Rangers ahead after eight minutes.

Five minutes later a long-range strike from Kieran Court put made it 2-0 and, right on half-time, Alex Trotman emulated Cooke's strike with a superb solo goal.

The second half was only two minutes old when another fine passing move ended with Dave Stanley firing home.

Two Jack Milward strikes late on made it 6-0 before Saints struck a well-deserved consolation.
