THE town's new rugby league outfit Redditch Ravens have just finished their first training session at Abbey Stadium as they prepare for the summer season.
In order to give the Ravens a professional start to the season, arrangements are already being made to hold an eve of season get together for players and sponsors.
The evening before the first match on May 7 will announce the first team and hopefully have former St Helens and Great Britain star Chris Joynt as guest of honour.
Jason Spafford put players through their paces at the first session which had a number of intensive fitness tests to establish strength and endurance.
Players will be joining up from today onwards for training at Abbey Stadium at 7.30pm.
Off field, the club's development continues with a number of companies expressing an interest in sponsoring the Ravens in their first season.
Negotiatons are still ongoing with a number of parties regarding the eventual home of the Ravens.
