THE Pleasure Park,

How fantastic.

What a brilliant scheme.

To convert our Lido into a pleasure theme.

It's so amazing one can only wonder,

How Wychavon almost made a blunder.

With a Lido, theatre and cinema together,

Enjoyment throughout all kinds of weather.

Councillor Jennings, I do believe,

Should be thanked for its reprieve.

He should be honoured with a written play,

Performed in our theatre on opening day.

Spa citizen a play be written for you to appear,

Penned on parchment as if by Shakespeare.

Wilt thou not help release your strings from bounty purse

And thereby purge gods damning curse.

Which he has feted upon Wychavon,

Thou faithful servant dost thou not craven.

For riches beyond thy wildest dreams?

Rewards oft heaven bound it seems.

But for thee, who many grant as saviour,

Canst reward collecteth earthen favour.

A plinth upon thyne image cast,

Reward begot unto history past.

And grant to thee eternal pleasure,

Through Lido's long established treasure.

All spoken in Brummie of course
