Evesham Jubilee Society

THERE was excellent sport when members competed at the Fishery for the final time before the venue reopens on May 1.

Carp, chub, tench and roach were all netted with Brian Bennett taking first place.

Members are asked to note that the annual general meeting takes place on Tuesday at headquarters starting at 8pm.

Any tables of motion, with a proposer and seconder, should be addressed to Phil Seedhouse, while any one interested in joining the committee should also contact the secretary.

Members holding trophies are asked to return them to John Davis as soon as possible in readiness for the presentation evening on Friday, May 20.

It's the Centenary Trophy the previous weekend when members will be in action at the Fishery on Saturday, May 14.

THE three-match Baguley Lake Series for junior and intermediate members takes place at Manor Farm on Saturday when the draw is at 9am.

The Middle Pool is the venue this weekend while future matches take place on the Island Pool on April 23 and Ash Pool on May 7.

A FRESH and windy day greeted 16 members on the Windmill Lake at Manor Farm for the latest round of the club's Bradford and Bingley Spring League.

Clive Leeming's weight of 29.4.0 brought him top spot narrowly ahead of Ron Williams (28.4.0), Jerry Ackerman (19.0.0) and Steve Hilton finished third and fourth respectively.

The next match is on Sunday at Loxley where members are asked to arrive at the lake side for the draw at 8am.

MEMBERS are reminded that the presentation of trophies for the past season takes place in the skittle alley bar at the Working Men's Club on Saturday.

The club's AGM will take place on Friday, April 22 starting at 7.45pm.
