THE letter from Marion Large (Worcester News, Monday, March 28) confirms the Hunting Act has not and never was intended to save one fox.

More than 700 hours of valuable Parliamentary time have been wasted to produce this comedy of errors.

Since the Act came into force, hunts have legally culled more than 800 foxes. The fox used to only have to outwit the hounds now they also have to avoid two or three shotguns to make an escape. The main achievement of the Act has been a decline in animal welfare.

The ban-it brigade have got their wonderfully new law but nobody is under any illusion it was ever designed to benefit the fox.

Malvern.
