The president, Mary Davies, opened the meeting and warmly welcomed everyone.
Business commenced with news of a Catshill village funday, to be held on Saturday, June 18. The object of the day will be to help raise funds to maintain the George Wagstaff Meadow and to install new facilities, including a children's activity and play area. A total of £30,000 is needed and it is hoped the day will help towards the cost. It was proposed and accepted that members and the committee would provide a cake and produce a stall on the day.
The theme for the WI calendar for 2007 will be water in Worcestershire. A provisional date of April 14 has been set for the annual dinner, details of the time and venue will be announced at the next meeting. The bead craft workshop will take place on May 11 from 10am to 3pm. The cost will be £4. The evening finished with many thanking Cynthia Caldicott for providing the lovely flower arrangement for the president's table and reminding everyone to get busy potting up their excess plants for the plant sale to be held at the April meeting. The competition winner for the evening was Christine Clarke with her interesting old book. We meet next Monday at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Jan Harrington from The Swan Rescue Centre.
