MARY Dhonau (Letters, Wednesday, March 30) accuses Labour of following the Liberals in supporting free bus travel.
What a laugh. It has been Labour-run authorities that for years have had free bus travel for pensioners - including Birmingham, London and even locally in Redditch.
How rich of her to claim the Liberals had anything to do with Gordon Brown's latest budget. I can assure Mrs Dhonau, and the rest of Worcester, that Labour will not be following the Liberals in other key policy areas either - we will not give postal votes to prisoners (including child murderer Ian Huntley) as the Liberals plan; nor do we support reducing the legal age to buy alcohol to 16 years - as the Liberals want.
We believe this would only add to the problems faced by local police dealing with drunken louts at night. So no, Mrs Dhonau, we will not be following your new party down the road of being high on tax and soft on crime.
MICHAEL FOSTER MP,
House of Commons,
London.
