NATURE-lovers will be taking a walk on the wild side during a series of free events,
Worcestershire Wildlife Week, which runs from May 7-15, will celebrate the area's wide variety of wildlife.
The week is being organised by the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, which has teamed up with groups like the National Trust to hold events including woodland walks and talks by experts.
Nature-lovers can learn about the Chaddesley Wood National Nature Reserve at a talk by naturalist Gordon Forrest, which runs from 7.30-9.30pm on May 12.
The talk, to be held at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall, will be complemented by a walk through the woods which will be held on May 15 from 10am to noon.
On May 14 Eades Meadow, one of Britain's oldest and finest wildflower meadows, will be open to the public. There will be a variety of wild flowers, including orchids. The meadow, near Hanbury, is open to the public just once a year.
On May 15 there will be guided walks through Pepper Wood, Fairfield, from 10 to 11.30am and again from 2 to 3.30pm.
A walk through Trench Wood, Droitwich, will be held on May 9 from 7 to 9pm.
Other events during the week include dawn walks, bat walks and bird-watching.
