ASTWOOD Bank came from 4-1 down to beat Hillcrest 6-4 in the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League Division One.

Wins for Margaret Dignum (2) and Dave Wood (2) in the singles and the doubles saw off Hillcrest, who had Darren Williams and Alan McLoughlin win two matches each.

Coughton defeated Droitwich B 7-3, with two wins each for Mick Kendall, Terry Rawligs and Gary Jackson.

Reigning champions Lickey Monarchs' team of Roy Norton, Eric Hardman and Sid Hodgetts defeated Droitwich A 10-0.

Cofton Hackett B also brushed aside their A side by winning 10-0, while West Midlands Phones B lost 9-1 to their A team.

In Division Two SPSP and Studley Road Terriers drew 5-5.

Mike Kirwan (2), Pete Hartles (2) and Dan Vernon won for Terriers, while Steve Nicholls and Phil Govier won two each and the doubles for SPSP.

Martin Borg was man of the match as Barnt Green Hornets and Carter Retail drew 5-5.

Borg won all three of his matches for Retail.

Division Two leaders West Midlands Phones B got the better of Studley Road Nomads 7-3, with Fred Harrison winning three matches.

Lickey Rocs defeated Droitwich D 9-1 and Spa's C team beat their E side 10-0.
