PARISH COUNCIL: Notes from the parish council meeting on March 21.
Bus stop - northern travel direction: A new signpost and hard standing have been installed. The chairman will chase up the official opening date.
VE/VJ 60 years celebration: It was decided not to go ahead with any celebrations.
Annual parish meeting on April 25 at 7.30pm in the village hall: Mr David John of the CPRE will address the meeting on planning issues.
Fladbury Cross verge: The reported gas smells were being investigated. There will be a small grass verge retained but cutting will not be the county council's responsibility. A review of all signing will take place to prevent over-signage.
Traffic census: WCC Cllr Eyre is to attend a meeting where she will push for a census.
Station Road verge damage: White posts had been installed but further damage throughout the village and particularly the village green appeared to be the result of local growers using larger vehicles.
Farm Street access: PC Toms had attended an onsite meeting and suggested yellow lines as the only realistic way of getting anything done.
BAA car park littering: The BAA had responded to requests for cleaning up the area saying that the litter was dropped by tourists, not their members. Focsa had cleared the litter in the meantime. Future anti-social legislation proposed might be available to the council to demand that BAA keep their property tidy.
Conservation area: WDC Coun Meikle requested that the conservation area in Fladbury should be updated urgently and should be considered as soon as possible by the WDC.
Rubble dumping: The dumping of rubble on Craycombe bank is to be monitored to ensure that it is only a temporary arrangements.
The annual parish meeting is on April 25 at 7.30pm in the village hall. The annual meeting of the parish council is on Monday, May 16 at the Sports Pavilion at 7.30pm.
