HARRIERS have been challenged to go from zeros to heroes by dramatically dragging themselves out of the doldrums and salvaging their Football League future over the final five games.

Boss Stuart Watkiss insists Harriers owe it to themselves and to the fans to bounce back from last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Wycombe and defy the odds with a late surge for survival.

And the Aggborough boss is ready to ring the changes for Saturday's must-win clash at home to Bury with captain Wayne Hatswell expected to be dropped for the first time in his Harriers career. The skipper will be replaced by Billy Jones, with Reuben Hazell in line for his Kidderminster debut at right back.

Bertrand Cozic is also set to make way for Simon Russell on the right wing and Blair Sturrock is likely to come in for Mark Rawle as Harriers go for broke.

"Last weekend's disappointment is not forgotten but there are certain aspects of that game that I don't ever expect to see again from my team," said Watkiss.

"The players now have the chance to try and put things right but it is going to be very, very difficult because we have now reached the point of no return.

"There's still hope and still a chance for the lads to become heroes by saving us, but it is going to be extremely tough."

Meanwhile, Abdou Sall will be hit with a club fine after receiving a dressing down from Watkiss for turning up late for the coach to Wycombe

Iyseden Christie's season was all but ended at Wycombe after he sustained a wound in his backside that required 13 stitches and will keep him out for at least three weeks.

Forgotten man Steve Burton has refused to comment on being frozen out by Watkiss despite being publicly lambasted by the manager for lacking ambition.

Watkiss has hit out at the former Hull left back for rejecting several chances to get his career back on track away from Aggborough. But Burton told the Shuttle he was reluctant to bite back at the boss in case it landed him in hot water.
