STOURPORT produced a dazzling first half display on their way to a 3-2 victory at Swindon Supermarine.

Two goals in the final half-hour gave the home side hope but it was Swifts who deservedly held on to claim the points.

And it was star striker Duncan Willetts who helped guide them to victory with a two-goal haul against the team that ran out 2-0 winners at Walshes Meadow less than a month ago.

Swifts had seen their confidence dented by back-to-back defeats over Easter but they still produced a lively opening that culminated in Willetts opening the scoring on the half-hour with a volley from Dan Mason's corner.

The visitors doubled their advantage just before the break when Mason's shot was deflected beyond Swindon keeper Tom King and Willetts made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half, turning home the loose ball after a Richard Burgess strike had been parried.

But Swifts rarely make life easy for themselves and they allowed the Wiltshire side back into the game on the hour, Steve Davies prodding the ball into the net following a mistake by Swifts keeper Aaron O'Malley.

Giles Harris grabbed another for the home side ten minutes later, netting from the spot after Lance Lewis had been fouled by Craig Webb, but Swifts held on for victory. Striker Burgess is hoping Swifts can use the win as a catalyst for an end of season run.

"I think all of the teams we've got left to play are below us so we're going out to win them all," said Burgess, who is enjoying life at his hometown club after being released by Halesowen Town and Bromsgrove.

"If we can finish the season with a good run of results then we might have an outside chance of the play-offs and it will give us confidence to seriously challenge next season.
