AN obese Vale man hoping to shed almost half his bodyweight is continuing to win the battle of the bulge.
Graeme Williams, aged 47 from Abbey Gardens, Evesham was threatened with divorce by his wife Rosemarie in February unless he shed some of his 28-stone bulk. After almost two months of healthy eating and exercise the father of two has managed to lose an impressive two stone.
Rosemarie, aged 50, said: "Graeme has done really well and we're all very impressed with his progress. He's become a member of Evesham Leisure Centre and goes there three times a week; all the staff have been very supportive."
Graeme's excess weight led to the onset of a variety of health problems, including diabetes, sleep apnoea and thrombosis.
His improved health is not the only reason for his continued motivation - the former credit controller is also being sponsored in aid of the Evesham Sea Cadets for every pound he loses.
