A REVIVAL of one of the most popular radio shows ever is one of the highlights heading up the new season at Malvern Theatres.
Round the Horne...Revisited includes two episodes of the classic show with new and unheard material added by its sole remaining writer Brian Cooke.
Expect new sketches from the likes of Julian and Sandy, ageing juvenile Binke Huckabuck, Dame Celia Molestranger and J Peasmold Gruntfuttock. Rambling Syd Rumpo also returns.
The show has come from the West End and its stars have been much applauded for their portrayals of the show's original stars Kenneth Horne, Kenneth Williams, Betty Marsden, Douglas Smith and Hugh Paddick.
Round The Horne...Revisited gets the new season at Malvern Theatres off to a good laugh from April 18 to 23 and audiences will later be able to enjoy performances from a host of well-known stars.
There are major thrillers - Dial M for Murder, The 39 Steps and Wait Until Dark - drama with The Unexpected Man (with Peter Bowles and Sian Phillips), and Jeffrey Archer's Beyond Reasonable Doubt (Leslie Grantham and Simon Ward) as well as Daisy Miller, which comes to Malvern (with Jean Boht, Shirley Anne Field and Vicky from EastEnders, Scarlett Johnson) before a national tour.
