THE go-ahead has been given for a Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food restaurant to open on a Worcester business park.
Last night, Worcester City Council's planning committee approved the application for a KFC on the Blackpole Industrial Estate.
However, the restaurant will only be allowed to be built if the company agrees to spend £20,000 on improvements to roads and car parking facilities in the area.
"The exact stipulations of the agreement are being drawn up by lawyers and should be signed by KFC in the next few weeks," said principal planning officer Paul O'Connor.
It is the second time lucky for the fast food chain. In December 2004, a similar application was put forward but rejected because of inadequate car parking and subsequent traffic safety fears.
The new hut will be built on top of the existing security hut in the car park.
