IT is good to read of the continuing debate concerning advertising signs in Great Malvern.
I believe this debate, like the rates debate, must continue in order to gain clarification. There are points outlined by Mr Wallace (of the Highways Partnership) that need explanation.
As few businesses in Great Malvern are 'hidden' (i.e. off the beaten track), why would a proliferation of signs occur? There aren't the 'hidden' businesses there to advertise - it makes little sense.
As for boards being hazardous, I presume to pedestrians, could not the same be said of scaffolding and/or small dogs etc? Think of the uproar there would be if these were banned or confiscated.
