I AM very grateful to Ian Beer (Your Letters, March 25) for his very positive letter of support for our production of It's a Mystery, recently performed to well over a thousand people at Ledbury Parish Church.
As the composer and musical director, I recognise that what took place over five performances amounted to far more than the sum of the parts.
Individually we often felt "woefully inadequate" (to quote Eric Pringle's lines for Mr Noah) but collectively we were strong, vibrant and even confident at times.
I know that I speak for Eric and Sue Millington-Jones (our director) when I say a heartfelt well done to our wonderful cast, chorus and orchestra and to all involved in making It's a Mystery into the landmark success that it was.
Firstly, my thanks must go to The Rev. Colin Beevers and the PCC for their unflinching support and to the good people of Ledbury and district for coming along in such numbers.
For me it has been the fulfilment of a dream that through a Ledbury community arts project such as ours, we may have succeeded in rolling back the stone to reveal just a glimpse of our risen Lord and Saviour this Easter.
JOHN FRITH, Newbury Park, Ledbury.
