ALISON Pickford's letter 'Thinking the unthinkable' (Your Letters, March 25) introduces bold and imaginative ideas for dealing with increased traffic caused by development of the North Site.
Some of them might infuriate as many people as they please, but that is a risk we may have to take if the congestion turns out to be really bad.
However, we must face the fact that drastic solutions will cost us money. The developers are committed to traffic flow improvements costing about £1m, but no-one has been able to persuade them to fund any more, so it will be us Council Tax-payers who foot the bill.
With this in mind, the sensible course is to wait and see what the traffic-flow is like in detail. At that point I would fight hard for whatever measures are necessary - but only once I was sure they would produce results for our money.
