STOURPORT Swifts have been challenged to reach 55 points in Southern League Division One West by their manager.

Dave Titterton reckons another seven points from the final four games would mean a satisfying campaign for his side, starting with tomorrow's clash at home to Sutton Coldfield (3pm).

Swifts recovered from three consecutive defeats to beat Swindon Supermarine last Saturday, aided by a brace from top-scorer Duncan Willetts.

Titterton wants to keep the momentum rolling before preparing for next season.

"Before last Saturday's game, I set the lads a target of getting 10 points out of 15," said Titterton. "Now it's seven from 12.

"It's not going to be an easy three or four games, though. Apart from Burnham, the teams we are playing all have good reasons to pick up points.

"Even Egham, because I know that their players are staying for next season and they want to start getting things together."

Titterton was delighted with his side's resolve at Swindon where they clung on to win 3-2 after taking a three-goal lead.

He added: "We were well and truly in control at Swindon. But they pulled it back to 3-2 with a dubious penalty and had another chance late on.

"Last season we would have drawn that game but it's different this season. There is more belief and that little bit more grit to hang on.

"I was chuffed to bits for Duncan with his goals. He has been out of the team in the last few weeks. He's sat tight and not been happy with that.

"There was a question mark about whether he could score goals at this level and sustain it. Okay, he misses a few chances, but he scores plenty and his overall play has got a lot better."

Swifts' midfielder Jon Hayward is to have an operation on his left knee on May 6.
