MANOR Park was represented by five juniors in the Cheltenham Junior Tennis Tournament, which is a national event.
Early rounds were played through rain and wind but players enjoyed the sunshine on finals day.
Ryan Hardiman lost 3-6, 3-6 to Albert Gilbert (Glos) but went on to be the runner-up of the 14 and under boys' plate event, losing 1-6, 3-6 to Jordan Hayward of Dorset.
David Hodgetts reached the third round of the 12 and under boys singles and played determinedly but lost against Freddie Kalfayan (Avon) 1-6, 3-6, who went on to win this event.
Pippa Lewis lost 1-6, 3-6 against Charlotte Poole (Warwick) and played the first round of the 12 and under girls' singles plate event.
Katherine Panton-Ken reached the third round of the 12 and under girls' singles losing 1-6, 3-6 to Leah Cox (Wales) after an exciting second set. Katherine also reached the final of the 12 and under girls' doubles with her partner Kate Forrester (Bromsgrove). They were runners up to Anna Peacock and Octavia Stead from Avon 2-6, 3-6.
Lizzie Gorton was partnered by Rachel Mack (Bromsgrove) in the 14 and under girls doubles where they played well losing eventually to Ellie Ball and Philly Koehli (Avon) in the second round.
- MANOR Park Tennis Club's ladies came within a whisker of making a winning start to the National Club Tennis League.
Elizabeth Veal's side, promoted from division two last year, drew 3-3 at Sutton Coldfield in West Midlands division one before being edged out 2-1 in the tie-break.
The Manor Park ladies face Leominster in their next match on Sunday, April 17.
