MALVERN Town striker Simon Judge rescued a Travel Factory Midland Alliance point on Saturday with a second-half strike.

OADBY TOWN 1, MALVERN TOWN 1

Fifth-placed Malvern visited ninth-placed and an in-form Oady Town and there was little to choose between the sides in the opening period which finished all square with no score.

Oadby took the lead soon after the break and Malvern responded when manager Hunt introduced forwards Dean Roberts and Duncan Preedy.

This seem to be the lift that Malvern required and they soon had Oadby on the back foot.

Town equalised midway through the half when Phil Preedy round two defenders and crossed for Simon Judge to score with a diving header.

Malvern pressurised until the final whistle and twice felt denied when Phil Preedy rounded the home keeper with the ball but was brought down with the referee ignoring appeals for a penalty and then Dean Roberts netted from close range with two minutes left, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

Manager Neil Hunt said: "Before the game I would have settled for a point but felt afterwards it was two points dropped."
